Who we're looking for:
We are looking for an experienced contract supervisor with excellent multi-tasking and organisational skills. You must be a team player, be able to prioritise and respond to constantly changing demands. You will be responsible for the delivery of various highway repairs and maintenance as well as occasionally working alongside the crews on site.
To manage all aspects of an individual contract working with the Contract Manager to ensure all works are carried out to the contract specification.
To be involved in the day to day management ensuring that contractors programs, progress, workmanship and quality is carried out within the expected timeframe.
Liaise with clients and maintain good business relationships to ensure a steady flow of work is available.
Allocate crew, plant and materials to the job working with the Contract Manager.
Ensure plant and vehicles are maintained and suitable for the works working with the Operations Manager.
Organise training of employees in the various skills required for the execution of the works.
Implement a positive health and safety culture.
To assist with contract re-negotiations where necessary to ensure success and growth with existing client base.
Ability to carry out site visits, walk throughs and quote small works.
Attending internal and external meetings and can travel throughout the UK.
Ability to work away from the main office including an element of twilight/night shifts and overnight stays when required.
Experience of running a manpower crew within the highways industry.
The ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing.
Good level of IT skills in Microsoft.
Ability to work autonomously and make own decisions.
Can demonstrate knowledge and understanding of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality systems and the management of safe systems of work.
To have knowledge and experience in Ironworks, Joint Repair and APJ’s.
Able to lead, motivate and manage a team effectively.
Full UK Driving Licence
Minimum of 2-years experience in Highway Maintenance.
The ability to problem solve and a ‘can-do’ attitude.
